What is Storj?
Storj is a decentralized cloud storage network powered by the STORJ token. It encrypts and distributes data across a global network of storage nodes, delivering private, resilient storage at scale. The STORJ token pays storage providers and incentivizes users to share spare disk space, making cloud storage more affordable and censorship-resistant.
Why does Storj have inflation?
Storj has inflation because new STORJ tokens are minted to reward storage providers and to sustain network growth and participation, increasing the circulating supply over time. This issuance is designed to be controlled and purposeful rather than unlimited.
How is Storj inflation calculated?
Storj inflation is calculated by comparing the circulating supply from one year ago to today’s supply. The percentage increase in supply over that period is the annual inflation rate. Learn more in our guide: What is cryptocurrency inflation?.
