What is Railgun?
Railgun is a privacy-focused protocol that enables shielded cryptocurrency transfers on Ethereum. By leveraging zero-knowledge proofs, Railgun hides sender, recipient, and transaction amounts, enabling private on-chain interactions with DeFi and wallets. Integrating Railgun lets apps offer privacy-preserving transfers without compromising usability.
Why does Railgun have inflation?
Railgun does not mint its own currency, so there is no native inflation. Any inflation would come from the tokenomics of an associated token (if one exists) and is not a property of the Railgun privacy protocol itself.
How is Railgun inflation calculated?
Railgun inflation is calculated by comparing the circulating supply from one year ago to today’s supply. The percentage increase in supply over that period is the annual inflation rate. Learn more in our guide: What is cryptocurrency inflation?.
How is Railgun emission calculated?
Railgun emission refers to how new coins enter circulation, usually through mining or staking rewards. The emission rate depends on the project’s monetary policy and block reward schedule. Learn more in our guide: What is cryptocurrency emission?.
