What is Basic-attention-token?
Basic Attention Token (BAT) is a privacy-focused cryptocurrency used within the Brave browser to reward users for viewing privacy-respecting ads and to compensate publishers for attention. Built as an ERC-20 token on Ethereum, BAT coordinates the digital advertising ecosystem by aligning incentives among users, advertisers, and content creators.
Why does Basic-attention-token have inflation?
Inflation in BAT arises because new tokens are released from a rewards pool and distributed to users and publishers as they engage with ads through Brave Rewards, increasing circulating supply over time. The total supply is capped at 1.5 billion, so this inflation is limited to the distribution period rather than ongoing unlimited minting.
How is Basic-attention-token inflation calculated?
