What is Status?
Status is a mobile Ethereum client, wallet, and DApp browser that brings Web3 capabilities to your phone. It combines secure messaging with easy access to Ethereum-based decentralized apps and services, powered by the Status Network Token (SNT) for governance, network participation, and ecosystem funding.
Why does Status have inflation?
Status has inflation because its native token, SNT, is issued over time to fund the treasury and incentivize participation in the network. The supply is not strictly capped, allowing ongoing emissions to support development and governance.
How is Status inflation calculated?
Status inflation is calculated by comparing the circulating supply from one year ago to today’s supply. The percentage increase in supply over that period is the annual inflation rate. Learn more in our guide: What is cryptocurrency inflation?.
