What is Bifrost?
Bifrost is a cross-chain DeFi protocol focused on staking liquidity. It lets you stake assets while receiving liquid staking derivatives, unlocking liquidity and flexible yields across the Kusama and Polkadot ecosystems. The platform uses a native token to power governance, rewards, and network security, blending staking, liquidity, and DeFi in one scalable solution.
Why does Bifrost have inflation?
Inflation in Bifrost exists to reward stakers and validators and to fund the protocol treasury for ongoing governance and development. The inflation rate is designed to maintain an optimal level of staked tokens, supporting network security and long-term sustainability.
How is Bifrost inflation calculated?
Bifrost inflation is calculated by comparing the circulating supply from one year ago to today’s supply. The percentage increase in supply over that period is the annual inflation rate. Learn more in our guide: What is cryptocurrency inflation?.
